Love At First Sight Vs Building Love From Friendship

Love at first sight huh? I feel so inclined to write about this because a lot of my songs are love songs and I have such a crazy perspective of relationships from my own experiences

I have been played and I have been the player one thing I find beautiful about life is how things can spin full circle. It’s not as promoted as much in mainstream culture as in the past but the idea of love, at first sight, has been captivated In some of the best movies, music and even real-life relationships! One song that really makes me think of the feeling of Love, at first sight, is “Slow Down” by Bobby V. Mannn y’all know I’m an R&B type of cat at my core. Anyway, I feel that I have experienced this feeling of looking at someone and knowing that they were the one for me. Have you ever just been somewhere and public or been introduced to someone and felt like you know y’all supposed to be together. Like Mary J Blige said,

“Like sweet morning dew

I took one look at you

And it was plain to see

You were my destiny”

I lived through it and although it was a bittersweet love story in itself we didn’t work out. Even with that being said I will always love her because we have a child together and

It didn’t make me stop believing in love I just know from my experience that “Love at first” sight was falling in love with the idea of who someone could possibly be. I know that its not everyone’s story. I know real-life high school sweethearts and personally I think stuff like that is dope. I feel that a good love story is as good as the characters that are in it. I grew with time and eventually I got a second chance at love but it was under completely different circumstances.

In contrast to my last experience, I developed a relationship with my current girl and when we met I was in a crazy stage in life. I won’t even lie initially the same intensity wasn’t there because I was on some other shit knowing Im in a reality where I had a child that was 1000 miles away. As time went on and we learned each other I really learned what it meant to have someone be 1000% for me and reciprocate it back. I feel that putting yourself out there for anyone to be in a relationship and to take it seriously and value it is an amazing thing especially in todays world. I try to celebrate my experiences I had in my relationships as much as I do as in my experiences being single and doing what the fuck I want lol I’m a human tho so I keep it 100.

When its all said and done tho…..

Love is love all that matters is that when you have it your life you embrace don’t be a fool and appreciate a good thing when it’s gone.
